WALKER OPENS TALKS WITH SEVERAL MEMBERS OF SQUAD
Broadford Plant Manager Alan Walker and his new assistant Richard Fitzpatrick (pictured) have opened talks with three members of the playing squad who are now out of contract. Walker met Danny Burke and his Agent in a Bradford Curry house over the bank holiday weekend and said that he now expected Burke to put pen to paper in the next few days, the only stumbling block was his Pie clause, which is believed to have been uped to four pies a game.
Fitzpatrick has also held talks with Denis Ryan who is stalling on his new deal as he is unsure as too whether his body can undergo the rigours of a forty fifth season. Fitzpatrick commented ' With Denis the talks are at a very early stage, but so far they are going in the right direction'
Mark Stewart has signed a one year extension to his current deal after talks at Park Street last week, the Player of the Season has penned a new two year deal, which includes image rights and marketiing rights on his new boot range soon to be launched at Club retail outlets.
The management duo who are scouring the world for talent, meet up at 7am every morning to watch the World Cup games in Als lounge have also expressed an interest in Robert Grant, who is currently without a club, the tall powerful defender is thought to be on his way back into Sunday morning football with a bid in the not to distant future from the Park Street outfit.
