Mick Brook
Mick joined Plant in the Summer, unfortunately his appearances have been limited this season due to a serious thrombosis injury. Mick is a tough tackling, no nonsense full back who is very hard in the tackle. Mick will be looking to consolidate his position within the squad in the remainder of this season and will definitely be hoping for an injury free season next time around.
Mick has set up his own antique restoration business and you can visit his website on www.antiquemetalrestoration.co.uk

Danny Burke
Age 30
Is now in his fourth full season with Plant, originally came down to support Simon 'Crow' Johnson who has now left the club but happened to be stood next to Pete Glew and Dave Woodhead who convinced him that the club was on the up (Plant were at that stage bottom). Having taken the plunge and pulled on the famous red and blue stripes he scooped Player of the season and has also since won two top scorer trophies. Unfortunately the nightlife in Chicago Rocks and several groin injuries are taking there toll on Danny and this has meant a change of role dropping out of the frontline and allowing Kris Walker the scoring glory although it is Dannys ambition to be top scorer from midfield therefore showing the youngsters how its done. Danny is pictured in action against Hare and Hounds this season.

Phil Carter
New player signed for a £1 from Red Lion in 2b. Not much known about this player but great nickname !!

Michael Clayton
Age 30
Now in his seventh season with the club. Had previous spells with Cottingley Dynamoes (1988-92), Albert FC (1992-93) and Harrison & Clough (1993-95) before joining up with ex-Broadford manager Peter Glew in 1995. Not renowned as a goal-scorer (it is only bad luck that has kept the tally to less than 10 per season) but none-the-less possesses the hardest shot in the league. Has formed a good central-defensive understanding with Dave Tarren "Dave goes for the headers and I watch" he says. Other info:- Still harbours a feeling of bitterness following a disallowed effort against Bolton Villas in 1998 although he does not like to talk about the incident. Humour section:- Victim of a mystery turd a few seasons ago up at Northcliffe. The purportrator obviously preferred Mick's shoe (see player spotlight) rather than Northcliffe's trap 1 (no surprise there!!) !!

Martin Close
Martin joined Plant on a free mid season, Plant manager Alan Walker and Captain Denis Ryan persuaded Martin to come out of retirement and have one last fling at Sunday morning football. It has proved a wise decision as Martin has added stability to Plants defence and has made some outstanding contributions this season at Centre Half. Walker will discuss the players future at the end of the seasoin and it is hoped he will be offered a new two year deal.
Martin is the vocal member of the team - and could quite literally do with a zip over his mouth during some games!!!! - ZIPPY!!!!!
