We play in Scarborough cricket league, which is located in Toronto, Canada. SMCC was established by few friends in 1994, with the dream of making it a most successful team. It has gone through lot of player changes and survived some tough early years in its existence. In 1997 it went through another change when Zakir Patel took over as a manger and was backed by some tremendous group of talented players. This change was the signal of great things to come. More talented players like Samad Shaikh,Hemal Desai,Miraz Patel, Iqbal Shaikh, Saifu Shaikh and Farid Malek joined the team that already had some good players in Mohammed Darsot, Mohammed Hafejee and Saleh Hafejee.The change brought instant talent and youth to the team. The best was when Mohammed David and Ahmed Panchbhaya decided to play for this team, they gave the team

instant credibility and brought great experience to this youth team. The dream came true in 1988 when, SMCC became 2nd division champions. The winning and the enthusiasm brought more great talent to this team,in likes of Arif Talati, Mohsin Mulla, Asif Mulla and made this strong team even more stronger. By this time SMCC had earned the reputation of being most enthusiastic team, the team, which never gives up, and fight till the last ball. After winning the second division it was ready to take on the SCA top division. In 1999, the team made to 1st division semi finals and was awarded a heart breaking loss by leagues shabby management. In 2000, the team again made to semi finals but this time lost to a very good Cosmos team. But the time had come that this great team showed it full potential and do what it was destined to do, win the SCA 1st division championship. SMCC had their best year in 2001, winning 20 over championship, division title and best of all SCA 2001 league championship title.

Greg Thomas was bowling to Viv Richards in a county game. Viv missed a superb outswinger, and Thomas said "It's red, round and weighs about 5 ounces." Next ball Viv hits Greg Thomas out of the ground and replies, "Greg, you know what it looks like. Go ahead and find it!"
