SIX OF THE BEST

BROADFORD MAKE IT SIX OF THE BEST

Fox and Pheasant...2 Broadford Plant...4

Plant extended their run to six wins on the trot with a workmanlike performance in Little Horton.
Plant were forced to make a number of changes with Andy Netts,Martin Close and Phil Carter all missing, Boss Alan Walker drafted in on loan keeper Stuart White and recalled Chris Fitton and Ted Grant.
Plant though fell behind after fifteen minutes when a scramble in the box following a good tackle from Mark Stewart fell kindly to a Fox striker who despatched it past White.
Plant though were quickly back on level terms when a huge drop kick from White was latched onto by Ali Faisal and he took it under control to cooly slot it past the advancing keeper. Plant then pushed hard for the lead and were in control of the game and the lead duly arrived ten minutes before half time when Denis Ryans in swinging corner was not dealt with by the Fox defence and it fell to Ted Grant who lashed a shot through a crowd of bodies.
Plant then contiued to press in the second half and wasted two great chances when firstly Dom Fitzgerald shot wide from a good position and then good work down the left hand side by substitute Richard Fitzpatrick and Danny Burke presented Ali Faisal with a simple tap in but the striker missed it totally and it went for a goal kick.
Plant were then made to pay for spurning these chances as Fox equalised when a mix up between Stuart White and Ted Grant gifted them a strike on goal which was taken, to be fair the pitch played a major part in it as the ball stuck in the mud and the Fox player nipped in to slot past the hapless White.
Plant though rallied and scored two more in the last quarter of the game to take their run to six straight victories, firstly Danny Burke scored and then Ali Faisal showed great composure to seal the hard earned victory riding several challenges to rifle the ball into the roof of the net.
