PLANT THWARTED BY RAIN

Kenneth Export  Sunday, January 20, 2002  13:50 GMT

WEATHER INTERVENES

Plant Groundsman Tommy Fork lost his battle against the elements today as Plants home fixture against Crown Reserves fell victim to a waterlogged pitch.
The game was called off thirty minutes before kick off after a lengthy pitch inspection by the referee and club officials. It is the third fixture to be called off at Park Street this season, two to the weather and one to vandalism.
Plant were looking to increase their run of victories to six with a win today and now face two tough away fixtures at Fox and Pheasant and Oddfellows Hall in the next fortnight.
