Footie FilmThere's Only One Jimmy Grimble - Cert 12

Put Me On Coach!
It's rare for a British Film (about football no less!) to wear its heart on its sleeve;
'There's Only One Jimmy Grimble' is a warm, openly optimistic film about rediscovering faith in oneself. It features 3 of Britain's top acting talent in nicely against-type roles, Robert Carlyle (Eric Wirral),
Ray Winstone (Harry) and Gina McKee (Donna).
'Jimmy Grimble' is played by 16 yr old newcomer Lewis Mckenzie, who is a fine, young actor. He plays a nerdy 15 yr old schoolkid who is bullied for being the sole Manchester City fan, among a playground full of United supporters.....
Jimmy wants to be in the school team and..... Yes, it's all a bit sentimental, but if you can put your cynicism aside for 90 mins or so, the film works wonderfully. There is some great on-the-ball camera shots. It was released last week, so get down the vid shop.
