Cambridgeshire Girls Mini League U11s

The Under 11's travelled to Newmarket with the 13'
to cheer them on,but without their regular goalie
and a few new faces. In the first half U's began
well and created a few chances after some good
midfield work by Bryony Ward and Cheryl Hundson
but some good goalkeeping by Newmarket kept U's
out.Newmarket began to pile on the pressure and
excellent defending by Lori Holmes and Victoria
Barber kept Newmarket from scoring until midway
in the first half when they scored 3 before half
time. In the second half despite U's challenging
well Newmarket proved too much for the young and
inexperienced U's and scored 2 more to make the
final score 0-5

Bekki Smith in the U's goal easily dealt with the few chances Rowdies had. Kirsty and Bekki swapped in the second half and with 5 mins gone Bekki scored U's first. Victoria Barber soon made it 2 and now U's were looking good. With the last kick of the game Bekki made it 3 to take all the points.

CAMBRIDGE UNITED7 HAVERHILL U's 0
U's travelled to play an unbeaten United side and although U's lost 7-0 they were the only side not to concede more than 10 goals against Cambridge.
Lori Holmes and Victoria Barber in defence were again rock solid and kept United at bay for the first 20 mins. Steph Bullock Chantelle King and Katy Perrett in midfield battled hard in the 2nd half but their tired legs got the better of them.
Player of the match Bekki had a couple of chances to score but some good goalkeeping gave United a clean sheet.
