MARCY'S HOLIDAY HOPES BROKEN

Dougie Howser MD  Wednesday, June 06, 2001  14:44 GMT

Marcy Greaves has today been told he won't be able to go to Malia on July the 10th, as his broken leg has only recently started to heal, and will take a further 6 weeks, with under 5 weeks until the flight.
Despite breaking the leg 6 weeks ago, it has failed to heal at all and has left Marcy without the summer holiday to look forward to.
Greaves is still hopeful a quick recovery now the bone is healing may give him a chance to make the holiday, but even he confesses that it is a long shot.
Marcy can go on holiday with the leg in plaster, but with the heat and hectic nightlife, he is understandably against travelling with a full pot on. If the bone heals quickly it is possible to have a removable cast put on, which Marcy would go on holiday with, but the slow healing process so far doesn't give much hope for a quick recovery.
It comes as a bitter blow for Marcy, who broke the same leg last year, and after breaking it this year with 11 weeks until the holiday, it seems that fate has dealt a very cruel turn with his bone taking 12 weeks to heal, leaving him so near, but so far away!
