Ham No Commital No Denial !

Ray Allen  Friday, May 11, 2001  14:57 GMT

TIBS bumped into Bradford promoter Allan Ham at Valley Parade recentley. There to enjoy some Premier League footie, with occasional team boss Terry Warren and their wives. No time was wasted asking the key question-"come on Allan when will the Dukes be back ?". Allan was non-commital,but did not deny that he is thinking seriousley about reviving Speedway at Odsal in 2002.There are strong rumours that the Bradford Bulls will continue their tenancy of Valley Parade after the current two year agreement ends. At the moment Odsal remains functional yet no major events are held there. Ham agreed that Speedway could go on at Odsal with in a reasonable time span if the Local Council gave their backing. Bradford Speedway has always enjoyed a good relationship with the councillors at City Hall, and they may sympathetic to Speedways return at least until something definite happens at Odsal."How does he feel, now that Speedway has the profile and image he tried so hard to cultivate at Bradford...and the Dukes playing no part in it"? Ham agreed that Speedways image, with the GP's,World Cup and Skys Sports involvement has fired enthusiasm for the sport. He said that Odsal could once again be a home for the Big Events.
