Odsal Action from 1973- Its Heat 2 of the Yorks-Cumberland Trophy and Northerns Kiwi signing Mike Fullerton, leads Workington Comets Darryl Stobbart with Aussie signing Robert Maxfield bringing up the rear. Mike won the heat in 76.2 secs ahead of Stobbart with Rob third-a 4-2. Northern went on to take the match 42-36 but the trophy went to the Comets 83-69 on aggregate. This action shot was used as the front cover pic on the '73 programme.

In pic 2: Its back to 1972 and Heat 3 of the Knock Out Cup tie v Peterborough Panthers at Odsal. Panthers second string Roy Carter jets away from Northerns Kiwi ace Robin Adlington whilst team mate Alan Bridgett looks to see off first year England star John Davis ( hidden ). Robin took the heat of his way to a magnificent 14pt score as Northern took the first leg 45-33. Controversy marred the second leg at The East of England Showground; Bradford pulling the team out of the match due to track conditions. Again this shot featured as the front cover pic on the '73 programme.
