Bell missing JanuaryAdam Bell Monday, December 17, 2001 09:03 GMT
Irish Centre have been dealt a huge blow when they learned yesterday that top goalscorer Adam Bell will miss the whole of January through suspension.
Top scorer of both Irish Centre and the Under 18 league with 20 goals from 12 games was sent off playing for Heywood Sports. He was involved in a scuffle with Lindley Lib's "Shearer" look a like and was harshly sent off.
He has been fined £34 and suspended for 5 weeks. The suspension starts on the 31st December - 2nd February. Through suspension he will miss four games. With the fixtures still undecided, he could face the possibility of missing big games against Meltham, Fairbank, Elland and maybe a cup game.
Adam Bell spoke of the disappointing news by saying "Obviously i have to pay for my actions, and i will miss playing for both Heywoods Sports and Irish Centre but will be a better player when i come back for the game on the 3rd February. I'd like to apologise to all at Heywood Sports and everyone at Irish Centre, but with the team that we have i am replaceable and we are a good enough team to win all the games we get, without me. Good Luck to the lads and i will be here to support you on every game."
