Cambridge United 5 Wildcats 0

Andy Swallowe  Saturday, April 28, 2001  19:16 GMT

After last weeks dreadful performance the girls came into this game determine to give 100%.
Despite being under pressure for most of the first half all of the girls fought really hard.
Kirsty who is our top scorer played in goal for the first half and gave an outstanding performance. The team effort and goalies performance ensured that at half time we were only 1-0 down.
Because we did'nt have any cutting edge in midfield we swopped goalies over to try and equalise but Cambridge scored their second goal soon after.During a 10 minute spell in the second half the girls seem to have lost the plot and conceeded three goals with the final score being
5-0.You only have to look at the league table to see that Cambridge are head and shoulders over all of the other teams in the league. With all of their academy players taking part their manager admitted that this was the strongest team he had fielded all season.Despite losing heavily I cannot fault our girls who kept fighting until the final whistle.
