AVOCH 6 WICK THISTLE 1
Avoch are through to the last 16 of the Highland Amateur Cup with a convincing win over the cup holders. With a score to settle Avoch were the better team all round. Although starting out well Avoch had to wait for 35 minutes before opening the scoring with Robbie Macdougall pouncing on a defensive lapse to stroke the ball past the oncoming keeper who had hesitated initially giving Robbie the opportunity. Sinclair Patience added a second a couple of minutes later to settle any lingering nerves.
Into the second half and Alan Moir headed in an excellant header from Steven Maclean's free-kick.
Gary Reid added a fourth soon after. Wick responded immediately to pull one back but further goals from Steven Maclean and Robbie Macdougall settled the issue.
An excellent performance from Avoch playing their best football of the season.
