In the draft fixtures isssued today, Bradford City have an attractive opener to the 2001/2002 Nationwide Football League Division 1 season when Barnsley visit the Bradford & Bingley Stadium on Saturday 11 August for the first of several Yorkshire derby games.
The Bantams then get the longest trip of the campaign out of the way travelling to Portsmouth the following Saturday.
There are two midweek games in London, at Crystal Palace on August Bank Holiday Monday and at Millwall on Tuesday 23 October.
The derby game against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough is another midweek fixture, on Wednesday 19 September. City entertain the Owls on Saturday 2 March.
The Bantams have a busy Christmas period. We travel to play fellow relegated clubs Manchester City at Maine Road, where Kevin Keegan is now in charge on Saturday 15 December and Coventry City at Highfield Road a week later before home games with Sheffield United on Boxing Day followed by Crystal Palace three days later. The New Year's Day game is another local fixture against Burnley at Turf Moor.
Easter will be spent playing Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday 30 March with Norwich City at the Bradford & Bingley Stadium on Monday 1 April.
Due to the World Cup, the season finishes earlier than in recent years on Sunday 21 April when we will travel to play Walsall at the Bescot Stadium.
