Sharpe fee agreed
City have agreed a £500,000 fee for Lee Sharpe and he will move to Portsmouth next week subject to him settling personal terms.
Pompey are believed to have matched City's valuation of the former Leeds and Manchester United winger and Sharpe, who has just returned from a three-month loan spell at Fratton Park, is expected for talks there soon.
Paul Jewell paid only £200,000 when he signed the 29-year-old from Leeds just over two years ago, so the deal represents good business for The Bantams.
The money raked in from the Sharpe sale will add to Jim Jefferies' cash available for new signings.
How much he gets will depend largely to an extent on whether Benito Carbone stays or is sold, together with the overall sale of season tickets for next term.
City have reportedly sold 7,500 tickets so far, and Jefferies has been told by Geoffrey Richmond that he may be able to go above the previously anticipated £5million salary budget if that continues to increase.
