This season Essex feature in the top divison of the County Championship, after gaining promotion suberbly last season, led by the likes of Captain Ronnie Irani and paceman Ashley Cowan Despite playing top flight county championship cricket, the Eagles will be hoping to make a promotion challenge in the 1 day National league where they lie in division 2 There are some great experienced faces in the Essex side, including Nasser Hussain the England Captain, and Australian overseas player Stuart Law, who are both magnificent with the bat Veteren Peter Such bowls some great spin, and is in his benefit year this season, and amongst others in the bowling attack is mark Illot. Great young players are coming through the ranks, with the like of Stephen Peters, who is alredy showing he can play consistantly a theis level |
