Another blow, as Huddlers close in on new signing

Paul Quinn  Tuesday, November 20, 2001  18:20 GMT

Huddersfield  Irish Centre could be without three key players on Sunday after Micheal Clarke announced that he will more than definately not be playing on Sunday due to other committments, namely a small game in Scotland, Celtic, Rangers which Clarkey has tickets for.  Yet there is still doubt in his mind whether the decision is final and will only be confirmed on Thursday at the latest.

But as we talk of unavailable players a player that could be available for selection soon is Huddersfield New College player Tom GubbiniTom, who plays in the centre of midfield, has played for St.Josephs and Kirkheaton and has established a first team place at college is believed to be close to a signed and sealed deal.  The finalised signing is expected to take place early next week.

Along with Clarke, who is doubtful for SundayQuinn and Bell are still fighting injuries to be fit for Sundays crunch clash.  Although both are making much improvement they are still on the doubtful list.  Yet Helliwell who has been suffering with a bruised foot has reacted well to the last two fixtures and will be a most probable starter along with Keady who is recovering well from a thigh strain.
