5 Star Hawkes Make 3 In A RowCannavaro Tuesday, May 21, 2002 07:50 GMT
Bruce helped himself to a hat-trick.
CHESNEYS HAWKES 6 v 2 5 STAR
Bruce, 3
Rogerson
Shaw

Chesneys Hawkes made it 3 wins out of 4 games with a 6-2 victory over 5 star.
Hawkes are now joint top with Up 'n' Atom, who they face next Monday.
Hawkes started the game shakily and failed to take control of the game, without creating any quality chances to open the scoring.
5 Star took a fortunate lead as a shot rebounded off the back board and hit Andy Rogerson and trickled over the line, but it was the wake up call Hawkes needed and they soon equalised through Rogerson who produced a dazzling run and shot for his 2nd of the season.
John Bruce then scored his first of the season to put Hawkes 2-1 up, but a mistake at the back from Rogerson, who got caught on the ball resulted in the equaliser.
Once again though Hawkes showed their character and scored twice through Bruce and Shaw to extend their lead to 4-2.
Manager Tracey was involved in a heavy challenge that saw bang his head heavily on the floor, from which he had to be substituted.
Hawkes were now in control of the game, Rogerson and Rhodes commanding at the back, with Shaw a constant threat upfront, and as 5 Star tired John Bruce took advantage of slack defending to win the ball and calming slot home his hat trick goal.
Tracey returned to the action and in the last minute latched onto Shaw's throughball, to slam home the 6th of the night.
Despite not performing to the standards of last week, Hawkes still claimed a convincing win, but they will surely be tested by league leaders Up 'n' Atom next week.
Chesneys Hawkes: Rogerson 8, Barrett 7, Tracey 6, Rhodes 7, BRUCE 8, Shaw 7
