Wildcats 1 Burwell Swallows 3

Andy Swallowe  Saturday, April 07, 2001  18:15 GMT

After last weeks excellent result the girls went into this game with high hopes.Unfortunately this was one of those games where all of our players failed to play as a team. Our defence was disorganised and our midfield continually lost possesion.Burwell played a very good passing game and showed some good individual ball control. They scored the first goal and we helped them on their way to victory by scoring two own goals.
It was'nt until we were three nil down that our players decided to make a game of it.With ten minutes to go we scored and this definatley lifted our team. The girls continued to pressure the Burwell defence and missed a couple of golden opportunities to get back on level terms.
If only we had started the game with the same attitude it might have been a different result.
We will definatley be looking forward to an improved performance for our next match against Cambridge United,
