ENGLAND IN LAST 8
A great first half team display rocketed Enlgand into the quater-finals of the World Cup. A Rio Ferdinand header from a David Beckham corner was pushed into his own goal by Sunderland and Denmark keeper Thomas Sorensen. The second came from Michael owen who opened up his World Cup account, with a final strike from under-fire forward Emile Heskey.
However Owen failed to return for the second half after suffering a groin injury. Paul Scholes was also withdrawn early after suffering a twisted ankle. England boss Sevn Goran Erkisson said, "We don't think that it's too bad and hopefully he will be fit for the next game. Scholes twisted his ankle but we don't think that it's a bad one."
