Purley John Fisher Win CLOB Tournament

Martin Cripps  Wednesday, August 30, 2000  07:50 GMT

Congratulations to the squad of players that turned up on Sunday to take
part in the Combined London Old Boys Tournament at Walcountians. We had a
really good turn-out and played some excellent rugby on our way to winning
the London Leagues tournament, despite a number of injuries to key players
along the way. After getting a bye against Chiswick (who didn't turn up), we
beat Old Guildfordonians, Old Mid-Witgiftians and Barnet(Last years winners)
to take the trophy. Most of us came through the celebrations afterwards,
although we are still trying to locate the trophy (whoops!!!).

We need to keep up the winning habit and translate that into league points,
starting with Old Reedonians this Saturday. There are also 2nd and 3rd XV
games against Reedonians. Please let me, Andy McHugh(2nd XV Captain) or
Gareth Berry (3rd XV Captain) know if you are available. There is training
Tuesday and Thursday this week in preparation for the first games of the
season. Please try and make it up to the club.

See you at training.
