Newcastle v Trelawny Match Report

Graham Hambly  Tuesday, May 28, 2002  12:34 GMT

THE JAG Tigers have to pull back a 16-point deficit against Newcastle at the Clay Country Moto Parc on Tuesday evening (7.30) if they are to progress into the second round of the Premier KO Cup.
Despite putting up a brave battle, they went down 53-37 at Brough Park on Monday evening after Alun Rossiter suffered concussion and whiplash when he was brought down by Andre Compton in his second ride.
It remains to be seen if he will be fit to take his place in the Trelawny side for Tuesday's second leg.
Good news for the JAG Tigers was the successful return from injury of Chris Harris, who scored eight points, while Emiliano Sanchez top-scored with 10 points, his best ever performance at Brough Park.
Steve Masters provided good support with nine (paid 10) while Simon Phillips continued his recent impressive form with five (paid six) including a win in his first race.
