Mixed night as SMB fail to capitalise on beer runLayne Walker Wednesday, June 13, 2001 12:46 GMTMagic Thighs v Six Pack v Sad Mad Bad SMB were Bine, Gary, Gerlinde, Layne, Llinos, Mark, Neil, Pete, Stuart & Tess Six Pac lost the first set against Magic Thighs on account of their two National League 'stars' were getting the beers in and they arsed around a bit. They put things to rights winning the next two very easily. Then we got to take them on. The first set was a really good one with lots of good play from both teams but we lost. In the second we were pants and were down 9-2 before we got going. However, despite a spirited comeback effort we lost again. The third set was better but Six Pack were now at the top of the game and a 3-0 loss it was. The highlight for me was when their male setter who was a tight pants merchant bellowed at the scorer. There are some strange people around. Against weaker opposition SMB were able to strut there stuff and take their frustration out on Magic Thighs. In the third set we even gave them an 8-1 start before taking it 17-15 and taking the series 3-0. |
