Haagen Lager Ellerslie AFC Mens 1st team in latest action has lost 2-0 to Glenfield Rovers at McFetridge Park. After a scrappy 1st half which provided little creativity or scoring opportunities saw both teams in the sheds locked up at 0-0. The crowd of about 100 needed to be woken up and got this after an own Goal by Ellerslie left back Jonathan Chapman saw the home side gifted a 1-0 lead. In the 55th minute Coach Wittaveen made his 1st change when Shayne Howell replaced striker Nick Russo who had an ordinary game to date. In the 75th minute a defensive error by Ray Palmer saw the 2nd gift of the afternoon to Glenfield Rovers Striker Mark Foster who must of thought all his christmas's came at once when he had an open net to calmly place the ball into. A double sub in the 80th minute saw young Daniel Martin and Matthew Kelly come on for Terry Torrens and Jonathan Chapman. The final whistle blew with the home side Glenfield Rovers coming away with a win 2-0. Ellerslie's Man of the Match was Nick 'Rava' Mennell.
