John Beresford has hailed former Bantams defender Andy O'Brien as a great prospect who has a bright international future.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international was a virtual ever-present at Newcastle following a late season switch to St James' from Bradford City, forming a strong partnership with Nikos Dabizas and earning the respect of Beresford, who said in the Sunday Sun.
"Andy O'Brien is a great prospect. The biggest problem he's had - and it's not been his fault - is that because he's come in from Bradford so he doesn't get the respect he deserves and has to earn it a bit more.
"But I think he's made a big impact and looks to me an international regular of the near future."
