Richmond ashamed

Adam Bell  Tuesday, May 15, 2001  08:56 GMT

Richmond slams fighting duo

Geoffrey Richmond has described the clash between Stuart McCall and Andy Myers as 'embarrassing' and 'unforgivable' and he wants them punished.
Richmond was furious at the way McCall and Myers darkened the name of the club by fighting between themselves at Elland Road on Sunday during the 6-1 mauling by Leeds, and he says he wants action to be taken against them by Jim Jefferies.
Jefferies, McCall and Myers have all since come out in public to try and diffuse the situation, but Richmond is in no mood to brush it under the carpet.
He said: "I will be discussing the situation with the manager and he will be under no illusions about the way I feel. From my point of view, their actions were unforgivable, and I feel ashamed.
"It was my most embarrassing moment in football and I wouldn't want to see Bradford City players behaving like that ever again."
McCall and Myers could also be in trouble with the FA as referee Andy D'Urso is expected to include the incident in his match report, and that could lead to either or both of them being suspended for the start of next season. City have also fined the pair of them a maximum of two weeks wages.
