Delighted to see Steve Ribbons getting the Crusaders back on track, especially to see Ian Clarke and Jamie Barton getting outings. Best of luck with the planning application and don't let the CL rest on their complacency..... |

A MESSAGE FOR STEVE RIBBONS Best wishes with your efforts to establish some form of competitive speedway in Kent. I would love to see a Middlesbrough team racing in Middlesbrough racejackets down at Old Ferry Road but the response to my pleas has been lukewarm. I know one or two lads who would love to wear a Boro racejacket but finding money to fund expenses and such like is nigh on impossible. I'm hoping Barford takes off because then we might be able to do something practical. At the moment there is only two of us. The interspan training schools have no connection with the Sittingbourne speedway club other than to rent the track. As to some alleged comments made about conditions, I would like to point out that heavy rain fell the night before the training session, and rain was running off the grass banks onto the track! All in all the track staff did a good job to provide a surface to practice on! |

I'd just like to draw the people behind Sittingbourne's attention to certain comments made on the Speedway Babes guestbook about this weekend's practice at Sittingbourne. A response is required I think! |

Hi from snowy Wisconsin, This weekend I had a go at Snowmobile racing during the world championships in Eagle river USA. It is the closest sport to speedway here and involves racing around an oval track the size on Rye House and Arena Essex. Instead of four bikes they race 10 to 20 snow mobiles at speeds in excess of 70mph. Its an amazing sport very similar to speedway with the exception that it is an individual sport. I am discussing a team formula with the governing body here to run it like speedway. Steve fancy coming to WI USA to watch some time. It is good to see Steve Ribbons involvement with Sittingbourne, if it was not for his hard work Rye House would still be a dream and i know with Graham they will be a succesful team. I am grateful to him for the opportunity to have been clerk of the course at Rye in their first year back on their home track. I just wish I could be in England to help with Sittingbourne. I hope to be in England for the start of the season this year depending on my new business comitments and am looking forward to meeting up with my old friends. I can be reached by email at Robpat@wirural.net. Steve Ribbons contact me please. |

Whenever I visted Sittingbourne I have always been impressed with the commitment of everyone there who work to get another track running. You should support Graham anyway you can before we lose another venue. Granted the stadium is not Wembly but what stadium in British Speedway is. With the Comittment that Graham has and hopfully planning permission and subsequent revenue you can improve the track. I am now full time in snowy Wisconsin USA and we have no speedway here at all so dont lose what you have and build on it. Learn from the experience at Rye House and you too will be racing in the leagues in years to come. |

I hope so. I started out at sittingbourne at the beginning of 2000. I enjoyed it a lot and went a lot. I didn't go for a couple of months and came back and it was totally unridable. |

A lot of work is, and will be going on during this winter to sort out the circuit, and believe it or not all the recent rain had helped settle the track to a flatter level!!! |

Sittingbourne is (or was) a good little teack. Graham Arnold puts a lot of time and effort into Sittingbourne. Unfortunately it is loosing riders because it's become far to unsafe to ride. Especially as Sittingbourne are trying to attract amateurs. The track has bumps that are just dangerous |
