FORMER Middlesbrough Bear WAYNE CARTER has joined struggling Premier League outfit Berwick.
Halifax-based Carter rode at Cleveland Park in three different spells in the early nineties and the Wolverhampton loanee made an immediate impact, helping Berwick defeat arch rivals Newcastle in the Tyne Tweed Trophy at Brough Park last Monday evening.
Carter began the season with Elite League Belle Vue but a team reshuffle saw him lose his place and he made odd appearances for Wolves. He last rode in the Premier League for the Isle of Wight.
