A TEAM SO CLOSE TO TITLE

Steve Bingham  Wednesday, May 09, 2001  19:14 GMT

After a barnstorming performance from the boys, they missed out on the league title by just 2 goals scored. The Saints outplayed Grange Farm throughout, and half time were 2-0 up from a penalty from Pete Richardson and a Chris Randall header. Needing four goals in just twenty minutes is a tall order, but with shots just past the post, and the keeper pulling of some close range saves, the lads got two further goals from Richardson and Aaron Wheatley.
Another great season by the team, well played from Graham and Steve, carry on in the same vein next season!
