Locomotiv Lumpfoot 3 Rhydyfelin 1
Lumpfoot recorded one of their greatest ever victories in an exciting encounter.
The first half was an even affair, with both sides having chance. It was Loco who took the lead, though when defender James Madley stabbed the ball home from close range. Loco created more chances and found themselves two goals up when heavyweight winger Chetan Patel cooly slotted home from 6 yards. Both sides had more chances but it stayed 2-0 at the interval.
Rhyd came out fighting second half and the heroics of Ian Evans in the loco goal kept them out. Lumpfoot also made chances and a breakaway from striker Dewi Frelford started a move which saw substitute Mark Pearce scramble the ball home. Lumpfoot kept things tight towards the end although Rhyd did get one back from a free kick. The match finished 3-1. The win will give Lumpfoot bags of confidence as they go in to their final four matches with a top four place still there for the taking.
