SIGN OF THE TIMES ???

The French were sent home from the World Cup today after losing 2-0 against a good Danish side.

 Now the reason I am writng this article is because of the signs. The last time the defending champions of a World Cup didn't make it past the group stages was Brazil in 1966 and England beat Argentina for the first time since 66. Yes, we won the World Cup in 66. So this could be our year to win it.

The Danes won their group with suprise package Senegal getting runner up spot after their 3-3 draw with Uraguay.  Now we know that to beat Nigeria tomorrow will set us up against another African nation on Sunday. Senegal is an awkward side, but they leak goals. If we do meet Denmark it will be no problem to score past their ageing defence with Michael Owen's pace up front.
