King Street Sports Club- A Brief History

King Street Sports Club or Boys Club as it is known today is the second oldest club in Aberdeen Juvenile football today behind Aberdeen Lads' Club.
The Club is thought to have been formed in either the late 1050's or during the early 1960's and has amazingly stood the tests of time and changes in football to this very day.
The Club unsurprisingly takes its name from the Street of that Name in the centre of Aberdeen.
The Club, like most Boys Clubs in those days were set-up in order to give Boys and later Girls, a chance to develop skills in a hobby they enjoyed but also to make friendships and bonds that could last forever. It was also a way of keeping children off the streets and out of trouble.
Despite it's age the Club is not the most successful Club you will ever see, but if all you are looking for is a good laugh, excellent team spirit and most importantly, helps you become a better person, then King Street is the Ultimate Club.
In a period where almost all teams rate success above all else King Street don't do so, having a luagh and keeping fit is what Juvenile Football should be about and King Street has often showed this.
Although King Street has not had success every year with trophies, individuals from the Club have excelled.
Over the past few years there has always been a King Street Player in Development, Select and Scotland Boys Club Squads.
The Club has had many Players who have gone on and made the step up to the professional ranks, these include:
