Monarchs Gain Revengescott frame Tuesday, June 12, 2001 15:45 GMT
Edinburgh earned revenge for their KO cup defeat by beating Newcastle Diamonds 53-36 in the Premeir league at Armadale on Friday.
The meeting was marred by a crash in heat 11.Monarch Dalle Andersson came down after apearing to be cut off by Diamonds No.1 Bjarne Pedersen.Andersson's bike careered across the track and hit team mate Jan Andersen who was thrown in the air and fell heavily on the track. He was taken to hospital with a head injury.by that time in the meeting the Monarchs were 40-25 up and coasting.
After the lengthy delay heat 12 got under way and Peter Carr took his third heat win of the night.Carr who was earlier beaten by buddy Andre Compton, looked very quick on a good surface as he gained revenge for that heat 3 defeat by beating Compton.Heat 13 saw Robert Eriksson win his first and last race of the night.Eriksson was having a bit of an off night but the star of heat 13 was young Ben Shields, who has replaced Derek Sneddon in the team.Shields passed Armadale expert Jesper Olsen on the last lap to gain that all important 3rd spot.
Former Monarchs skipper,Kevin Little, who looked impresive all night took heat 14 and in the last heat of the night Carr took an easy win and capped an easy victory for the Monarchs.
