Youth & Roo Ball Reports from 28/4Keith Page Monday, April 30, 2001 08:34 GMT
Tigers U8 v. Coolum Dolphins
Score 1 3
This was a closely contested game with both teams moving the ball all
around the field.
Although the Tigers went down, the result may have been very different if
several good shots
at goal had been a few centimetres the other way. The Tigers were always
competitive showing
tough physical defense and good passing up front to create many attacking
opportunities.
Nathan was the Tiger's Goal score. This week's awards - Attitude
Award to Grace and
Pizza Hut Award to Riordan.
Warriors U7 v. Nambour Yandina United (NYU)
Score 0 5
The warriors were hard pressed against their bigger opponents. NYU made the
most of their
opportunities but to their credit the Warriors continued trying and never
gave up. The second
half saw a much more determined Warriors side with several shots at goal
just shaving the uprights.
Although it was a hot day the team's fitness held up to still display
entertaining soccerskills and
teamwork. This week's Pizza Hut Award - Jason for his skillful and physical
attack.
Regards
Paul Peterson
Stingers 0 Sharks 2
Despite going down by two goals to a very good opposition everyone played exceptionally well, and the score could easily have been reversed. Jackson made some very good saves in goal. Nathan,Isayah and Tyson were all very unlucky not to have scored at different times. Daniel had a good game in midfield as did Zane who was his normal tigerish self. Then there was Chris who had a superb game in defence. All players could have been player of the match but this week it went to Nathan Adsett.
