ALL CHARGES DROPPED AGAINST MANAGER

Rob Shield  Thursday, June 07, 2001  17:02 GMT

WHO SAYS THE POLICE ARE SH**E!

For those of you who didn't know; the incident where I kicked a Rose & Crown player while I was assisting the referee as linesman on 8th April was brought to the attention of the Lancashire Constabulary as a 'complaint of assault' by the Rose & Crown player I kicked, Steven Hudson. I went to Rawtenstall police station last night (24th May) to be interviewed. I was officially arrested and read my rights. Fortunately, the copper dealing with the incident was a top bloke and understood the amateur football script and was very sympathetic towards me but had to follow up the accusation. He assured me that the I would probably just get a caution which would be on my record for 3 years, so I admitted the charge. He then spoke to the duty sergeant who decided that I shouldn't even get a caution and indeed no further action was taken. I was however fined by the league £25, the standard fine for a sending off. So once I got home last night I knocked back a few beers in the local to celebrate. I've now got the league to look into weather this player was actually signed on - I look forward to hearing about that the soft arsed little f**ker.
