MARCY HOLIDAY DREAMS FINALLY & DEFINATELY BROKENDougue Howser MD Wednesday, July 04, 2001 15:31 GMT
Andy 'Marcy' Greaves has today been told "You're not going to Malia!"
Doctors at Dewsbury District told him that his leg still hasn't healed sufficiently from his break 12 weeks ago, and recommended that he didn't travel, and Greaves reluctantly agreed.
The news is bad for the remaining 9 travellers, as Marcy is a popular member of the group who will be sadly missed from the 2 weeks.
A replacement is being searched for, with John Bruce the favourite to step in and fill the gap, although the £1400 required for spend and to pay the holiday may prove to be a stumbling block. Richard Newman and Adam Gleghorn are also rumoured to be interested in taking Greaves' place.
Some good news could be a one week holiday the last week in August that Marcy should be able to go on. James Tracey has suggested that another week should be undertaken and has said he is willing to go, despite the additional cost "I'm gutted for Marcy" he said "It won't be quite the same without him, but I'm up for another week later in August and I hope a few others are aswell. To be fair, I don't need an excuse to have two holidays a year, but this is as good as one that comes!"
