YMCA Caught Cold!Mark Lemm Monday, January 21, 2002 13:17 GMT
Reading YMCA's Cup dream has disappeared for another year after 20 minutes of madness at the beginning of the first half. After a slow start against Reading Old Blues the previous week question marks have again been raised against YMCA's concentration levels as they committed football suicide against Woodley Town. YM's defenders had difficulty dealing with the long ball over the top as Woodley notched 3 almost identical goals leaving YM with a mountain to climb. Despite dominating possession and territory for much of the game Woodley's defence proved a tough nut to crack and YM only had a scrambled Alec Norman effort to show for their efforts. The only bright spot came with the 70 minute introduction of Andy Bullett who made his first appearance of the season. With only the league to focus on, YMCA now face a crucial period as several players are unavailable over the coming weeks.
