Pickering retires with engine failure at the third bend of lap 1, when 2nd. 2: Potters pair gate. Smith goes under Armstrong early on lap 2, only for him to go wide and retire on the last bend of lap 2, allowing Armstrong through. 3: Atkin gates, but Thorp goes past on the first bend of lap 3, as Atkin runs too wide. 4: Staechmann gates ahead of Armstrong, only for Stead to pass Armstrong at the start of lap 2. 5: Won from the gate. 6: Won from the gate. 7: Unsatisfactory start first time. second time, Steachmann gates only for Thorp to go past on the back straight of lap 1. 8: Armstrong gates. Burrows in last, but he passes Smith on the inside at the start of lap 2. Smith then slides into the fence on the 3rd bend of lap 3. Brady then goes by Armstrong at the end of lap 3. 9: Won from the gate. 10: Walsh leads from the gate. Burrows goes past Thorp at the end of lap 2. Thorp then retakes Burrows on the 3rd bend of lap 2. Burrows tries hard to come back, but to no avail. Pickering tailed off in rear. 11: Won from the gate. 12: Smith gates, and is followed through by Walsh, thanks to the Potters pair drifting too wide. 13: Won from the gate. 14: Thorp gates from Staechmann, only for the race to be stopped when Felton crashes into the fence on the 3rd bend of lap 1. In the re-run, with Felton excluded, Thorp again gates ahead, only for Steachmann to go past, with a great inside move, at the start of lap 2. 15: Vikings gate, squeezing out Burrows who comes to grief with nowhere to go. Burrows is excluded. In the re-run, Thorp gates, while Bentley grinds to a halt on the 2nd bend. |
