New Tracks to Open

Steven Cook  Sunday, September 16, 2001  11:17 GMT

NEW CL TRACKS TO OPEN

Next season in the CL there looks to be 2 new tracks at Wimbledon and Swansea and also Boston look set to return home to the Lincolnshire town.  Wimbledon will race at old stadium Plough Lane, this will mean Wimbledon being the only London Speedway team.  They have come to an agreement with Greyhound stadium officials to race Conference League speedway there next year.
Ex-Puma Gordon Meakins and his father are hopeful that a track they plan to open at Swansea will be ready for the new season and will be able to host Conference League racing.
Also Boston look set to move back home after having spent the last 2 seasons racing at Kings Lynn's Norfolk Arena.  The new piece of land where the track will stand is only a stone throw away from there old stadium.
