Beagrie Replacement eyed

Boss set for winger swoop

Jim Jefferies claims one of his priorites is to sign a new winger which may increase rumours linking Stephen Glass with a move to Valley Parade.  The Newcastle star, who is likely to be shown the door at St James' Park at the end of the season, has been a reported target for the City boss since he took over the reins at Bradford from Chris Hutchings. And Jefferies has now stated the search for a new winger is a top priority in the summer, although it remains to be seen whether the club can convince Glass to drop down a division. The Bantams have been playing with three up front in recent weeks, a system which has worked very well, with Benito Carbone and Robbie Blake given the chance to drift wide at every opportunity. But Jefferies is concerned there is still no natural width in the side following the sale of Peter Beagrie to Wigan. Jamie Lawrence is also expected to leave in the summer, having stated he would prefer to move back down South. The City boss said: "Since Peter Beagrie left we've not got a natural winger, and they can give you options. I'm looking at every position though and hope to bring in three or four players in the summer and perhaps a couple more during the season." Picture: Jefferies eyes Beagrie replacement
