Dinnington Town 5-1 Teversal
The season finished in brilliant sunshine against old adversaries Teversal FC. Over the years Town have good memories of the Teversal games, always an even contest like the game played earlier in the season when the out come was a 3-3 draw.
With little at stake both teams took it easy for the first 25 minutes. Town could have scored on 28 minutes when Ben Rosser ran into the area, his pace was too much for the Teversal defence but Rosser stumbled and the ball was cleared. 30 minutes Lynam scored but he was adjudged off side. Town took the lead on 36 minutes when Rosser ran into the area and was tripped the awarded penalty was scored by Lynam. On 39 minutes a great pass from Andy Sykes found Michael Blythen to score from an acute angle. HT 2-0
In the 46th minute Town increased the lead when Lynam ran away from the defence to score. 75 minutes a great left wing move started by Sykes found Lynam to square a cross for Blythen to steam in to score Town's fourth. Rosser finished the Town scoring on 79 minutes with a shot from 25 yards out. Teversal got a consolation goal by Marc Scott on 85 minutes. And they came close again but with a minute to go the game was over. FT 5-1
Town delayed the main presentation after the game until the people who have helped the club over the season were thanked. League Chairman Tom Dixon awarded the the cup to Captain Andy Sykes and the deserved league Champions Dinnington Town FC. To finish off the ceremony the supporters player of the year (Phil Rhodes) and the players player of the year (Grant Allott) were deservedly awarded to both players who have stood out this season.
Looking back the season has shot by so fast we have had little time to really consider what we have achieved, an excellent season by anyone's account. Next season will be with us soon, we will have forgotten the past and like all the other seasons we will better the last, so all our supporters will certainly have some thing to look forward to next season...............
