Welcome to Burgess Hill Cricket Club

Our Club is one of the leading clubs in Mid Sussex and play their fixtures in the picturesque St John’s Park close to the centre of Burgess Hill. Burgess Hill Cricket Club are proud to have been appointed by Sussex County Cricket Club and the ECB as a Focus Club for this area of the County.  Burgess Hill CC is working towards gaining ECB ClubMark accreditation which will confirm our commitment to a safe child friendly junior section. This year the club is also working with Sussex CCC and the ECB on the Chance2Shine programme which involves the club delivering in excess of 250 hours of qualified coaching to children in schools around Burgess Hill.

The 2008 season sees the club elevated to the Sussex County League for the first time in its history, with both the 1st and 2nd XI playing in the Division 3 (Eastern).  The Club's third Saturday side play in the Stoner Mid Sussex Cricket League, Division 3. The season starts on the 19th April with friendlies, league action commences on the 3rd May and continues until early September.

This season will see two teams playing friendlies on Sundays as we give more youngsters the chance to bridge the gap and gain experience of adult cricket.

This season the club have again been invited to participate in prestigious Henfield 20/20 tournament which involves some of the leading clubs in the County. The team will play these games under the name of the Burgess Hill Buccaneers. Played early in the season on Wednesday evenings this form of cricket is hugely entertaining and well worth a trip down to St Johns Park to watch.

The club runs outdoor senior nets at St Johns Park every Wednesday evening during the season starting from 6.00pm and indoor nets at Great Walstead School on Thursday evenings at 8.30 pm from mid January until the start of the outdoor season.

This year as before the Club will be holding its annual Colts and Presidents Days which are highly successful and a great way for everyone associated with the Club to get together and enjoy themselves in a relaxed and friendly environment.

We welcome new members of all ages and ability.

The club has a strong and vibrant colts section, with teams in the SCB Youth League (U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14 & U16) and one team in the North & Mid Sussex League (U15), they also play friendly matches whenever possible. Outdoor coaching for the colts section are held in the evenings during the summer at Sidney West Fields under the supervision of qualified coaches. Winter coaching and indoor nets take place through to April. The club is committed to providing coaching and cricket to youngsters of all abilities.
